Last September, the U.S. Conference on HIV/AIDS in New Orleans celebrated the resilient leadership of our communities with Southern Joy. This past March, the 2025 Biomedical HIV Prevention Summit inspired innovation as a way to channel our collective strength into action. Now, we invite you to carry that energy forward and join us in Washington, D.C., for the 29th U.S. Conference on HIV/AIDS (USCHA).

This year’s theme, “Aging with HIV,” resonates deeply with our movement and with me, a gay, Black man in his fifties living with HIV. More than half of all people living with diagnosed HIV in the United States are over 50, and by 2030, this number is projected to exceed 70%. Aging with HIV is also a reality for our Dandelions—those who were born with HIV—who face unique challenges and opportunities.

As we navigate a year of upheaval, this theme invites us to reflect on our future and focus on improving quality of life for all. From health and wellness to the social and political determinants that shape our lives, aging with HIV is about thriving—not merely surviving. Together, we must ask: How do we truly serve the evolving needs of people living with HIV across their lifespan?

The 2025 USCHA is your opportunity to explore these questions and innovate solutions. In the nation’s capital, we’ll address critical aspects of health, wellness, and advocacy to elevate the voices of our diverse community. USCHA has always been a gathering place for our community and allies—a table built on collaboration, resilience, and unity.

This year’s convening is more than just a conference. It’s a moment to advocate for our future, protect our well-being, and amplify our impact.

Don’t miss this pivotal opportunity to come together. Register today to be part of the movement driving change, shaping policy, and improving lives. Let’s harness our collective strength and envision what it means to thrive while aging with HIV.

In community, with community,

Harold Phillips,

Deputy Director of Programs, NMAC
