General Info
Yeztugo is an HIV capsid inhibitor. It was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use as PrEP in June 2025.
Dosage
Dosing Info:
Yeztugo is a long-acting injectable HIV medication taken every six months.
Initiation dosing (injection and tablets):
Day 1: Two subcuatneous injections (each injection contains 463.5 mg of lenacapavir) plus two tablets (each tablet contains 300 mg of lenacapavir).
Day 2: Two tablets (each tablet contains 300 mg of lenacapavir).
Tablets may be taken without regard to food.
Continuation dosing (injection)
Two subcuatneous injections (each injection contains
463.5 mg of lenacapavir) every six months (26 weeks) from the date of the last injection.
Side Effects
The most common side effects of Yeztugo are injection site reactions (including pain, swelling, itching, redness, brusing or warmth), headache and nausea. The long-acting injections form a “depot” under the skin that slowly releases the drug, which can sometimes be felt as a nodule.
Tell your healthcare provider if you have any injection site reactions or other side effects that bother you or don’t go away.
