NMAC joins our colleagues at the Save HIV Funding Campaign by passing this important and urgent information along to the community.

CALL TO ACTION: Everyone, now is the time to call your House Rep and ask them to vote NO on rescissions.

As you may know, the Administration is attempting to clawback $9.4B in appropriated funding. If passed in Congress, this bill would codify the dismantling of USAID and includes $900M in cuts to already appropriated global health funding. Find your Rep here.

A vote is expected as early as Thursday. The House Rules Committee is marking up the bill right now.

Please feel free to highlight the impact of rescissions on global HIV funding. However, the demand is to reject the entire rescissions package. If the Administration succeeds this time, expect more  harmful rescissions to come, including to domestic HIV programs. We also don’t want cuts to funding for TB, malaria or other infectious diseases. This is a winnable fight - don’t wait to be heard!

From our partners at Families USA:

The next few weeks are critical in our ability to draw attention to the harmful provisions in this legislation. We will continue with our strong message: No Cuts to Medicaid, the ACA or other vital health programs! This week, we await language from the Senate on their version of the reconciliation bill, with many health care-related pieces expected by early next week, if not sooner.

Call to Action:

Join Families USA and other health advocates in telling your Senator: Hands Off Medicaid and the ACA!
