It's nasty how humans have one rule for themselves and another for animals. When it was mad cow disease they killed off the infected and all of those around them. When it was swine flew they didn't allow herd immunity to occur - they killed off whole farms. When it was bird flu they killed off all chickens. Why aren't animals given the same consideration that humans are given? It's called being speciesist - and it's nasty. And it's little recognised.
