Today, we honor the incredible life and legacy of Bryan Jones, a passionate HIV activist whose unwavering dedication transformed countless lives. Bryan’s journey was one of strength, courage, and boundless compassion. As a long-term HIV survivor, he turned his personal experience into a mission to educate, inspire, and empower others. He was a member of NMAC’s HIV 50+ family and was one of the first advocates calling for intergenerational conversation between older and younger individuals living with HIV.

Bryan shattered the stigma through his work, giving a voice to those who felt unheard. He stood as a beacon of hope for individuals in the HIV community, reminding them of their worth, dignity, and the possibility of thriving beyond diagnosis. His advocacy reached far and wide, challenging social norms, influencing policies, and championing access to healthcare and support for those living with HIV.

Bryan was not only an activist but also a friend, mentor, and confidant. His kindness, wisdom, and infectious energy left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. While the world has lost a remarkable soul, Bryan’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the awareness he raised, and the progress he championed. Let us honor his memory by continuing his work, spreading compassion, and breaking barriers in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Bryan C. Jones had a long battle with cancer. On December 29, 2024, Jones passed peacefully at his home in Cleveland, surrounded by his family and partner, Derek Barnett.
