You guys are wasting your breath with Jack. This is the same type of arguing that got him banned from AIDSMEDS. You're better off ignoring him or deleting his comments. It's just his way of trying to get around his ban. You think he would have moved on by now. At least he can't ruin or poison every thread he posted in at AIDSMEDS.

Jack, your facts are incorrect. NOAA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, has confirmed that six out of the last ten years have been the hottest in recorded history, and that the severe weather that has killed so many thousands and caused so much suffering is overwhelmingly likely to continue. Those are the facts. This is the world we now live in, and if we don't wise up, our children will die in.

I guess thats why the warmest years in the past 100 were 1900-1920. The Dems today made it clear why they have opposed all new drilling, nukes, new refineries and in short anything to increase supply and decrease price. they announced today they want to nationalize the oil industry. I knew there had to be a reason for them driving the oil price through the roof. They know the whole global warming thing is just a hoax they want control of US oil companies. My God,they will lose trillions. Look what Barney Frank and Dodd have done with Fannie Mae. It is a cesspool of corruption and losses from a government run business. A much bigger financial debalce than Enron and yet the media never reports this grand theft of taxpayer dollars. I can't wait till they take over. I am moving to France and buying a bicycle company

When I was ten or eleven, growing up out on Long Island, I can remember days so cold that we used to spit on sign posts and watch the saliva freeze. We don't have those kind of days very often anymore, Jack, and it just isn't because of some natural cycle. There are too many of us, burning ancient and unreplaceable oil, releasing carbon into the atmosphere, warming the planet and altering its weather. This isn't exactly news, and it certainly isn't some kind of liberal conspiracy designed to force you to drive a sensible car instead of a three-ton gas-guzzling behemoth. I'm just as wary of the government controlling our lives as you are, but the issue is not one that will be resolved unless and until we all face the very simple truth - that we have to change from an economy that consumes a limited resource to one that lives sensibly and sustainably. That's just the way it is.

I was wondering where I would find the mention of man made global warming in relationship to the temperature in US and surprise it is here on aidsmeds. Of course we have heard nothing for months when temps were below normal or here in Houston where we have enjoyed our coolest spring in the 30 plus years I have lived here. It is beyond my grasp to understand how in the 21 century we have large groups of educated people who attribute every change hourly or daily weather event to human action. This is not science. Its more akin to the pagan religions of ancient civilizations. More and more it appears another liberal ploy to gain control of our lives and money, cause nothing else makes sense. It is also humorous to see the same people who blame every change in the temperature on man blaming the oil price on big oil, opec and consumers, when it the blame rests soley with enviromentalists and our own government. The fact that we want the government who has brought us to this energy crisis to also take over medicine puzzles me. The same government who caused the present financial crisis with easy money and not enough regulation we want to take over other parts of our lives? The world has gone mad.
