Jerry, I'm not sure was you live, but ADAP covered people making $50,000 (in some states.) I'm not a expert with ADAP, but I think it cover the "donut-hole" (geeze, a hate not name!) Dave

SO, you make a lot more than most people and 5,000 is a problem. I don't mean to be bitter but there are people just over the limits that have a lot more problem paying this doughnut hole. Like if someone makes 23,000 a year take 5,000 out of that then they have a lot harder time paying other bills. Now would be a good time for people to get together and tell Congress that for the truly poor that 5,000 to pay a year for drugs is too much. How are the going to keep there House, Apt. or food on the table.

dave The mysterys of Medicare D and F are far beyond me. All I know is that I'm also on Medicare and since Part D came into effect, the state (California) pays for the $5,000 donut hole. I would think NY would be as generous. You might want to look into this. However, I learned this on my own. You would think ASOs would have a hold on this kind of stuff but the only thing I ever got from an ASO was a weekend for HIV'ers and a couple of free plastic pill containers. For everything else, including the baffling maze of Medicare, my brothers and I have had to figure out on our own. You might have better luck with your ASOs. Or call the NY State ADAP office (1-800-542-2437) direct (like me) to see what they have to offer.
