To say that this effort seems HYSTRIONIC would be an understatement...at best. I buy a number of household items from CVS here on 24th n 8th in Chelsea, as their prices for some items are quite competetive. I would never purchase my prescription drugs there simply based on what a wise old social worker once told me: "if your coverage should 'blip' or fluctuate or be disrupted for any reason, you can't depend on a chain-store to take care of you, they will guard their own bottom-line over your health EVERY TIME. you're much better off using a reliable mom n pop operation that kows the community it's serving." HOWEVER, if certain stores have noticed what they consider to be significant theft when ANY item is openly displayed, they have *EVERY* right to limit access to that product. IF they decide to give away condoms for free, they can do so any number of ways, but they "owe" such a giveaway to NO ONE. I'd like to see some of you people go into any of the very many convenience stores in ghettos throughout America that limit access to this- or that product (hell, many limit access to the whole store at certain hours) and try telling THEM that they should give things away for free. Rest assured, you'll get the answer you deserve. As the "stopCVS" website itself proves, there are many reasons to boycott or hate CVS and many other corporations...hating them for taking general loss-prevention measures is infantile, and labelling it "racist" is insidiously racist itself. "You're getting robbed? TOO BAD! GIVE YOUR STUFF AWAY FOR FREE DAMMIT!!" pathetic.
Your pharmacy choice's may keep narrowing. I read about the 12 most likely companies not to make it through 2009 from Moody's investors service which predicts the default rate on corporate bonds or which companies may fail. Here they are: Rite Aid, Claire's Stores, Chrysler, Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Realogy Corp, Station Casinos, Loehmann's Capital Corp., Sbarro, Six Flags, Blockbuster, Krispy Kreme, Landry's Restaurants, Sirius Satellite Radio, Trump Entertainment Resorts Holdings, BearingPoint
No CVS for me. I have my meds shipped by Arrow Pharmacy on Ninth Ave and 57 St.. I know that Michael, one of the owners have been supportive of the Gay community and keeping up to date in all HIV treatments. If you or your Insurer is spending lots of money on Meds; It is always better to go local. They know how much you are worth and treat you better. Make sure the head pharmacist knows you or better yet, the owner. Local does not mean in your Boro, but a pharmacy not owned by the Conglo's.
I use Bioscrip Pharmacy myself for the past six years they seem to be good to the Gay community. They deliver free, work with your Drs and you to get what you need on time. Sincerely, Jerry

dave,we certainly can't trust our government. Unbeknownst to most Americans,our government started a policy in the mid 90s of pressuring financial institutions into originating mortgages to people with out sufficient income or down payment. this was called the fair housing act. this act has caused more human misery than 100 bushes. Our government encouraged people to go into debt way beyond their means so they could own a house. Isnt that wonderful. Even though republicans tried to regulate fannie 17 times early in the decade,and were defeated each time by Barney Frank,Dodd and Maxine,who called the Republicans racist for not wanting people buried in debt for life,some Republicans favored the general thesis that every American should own a home,including Bush. The government then realized that there werent enough businesses to lend money to people who could not pay it back so they gave Fannie and Freddie the power to buy these bad and often fraudulent mortgages from the banks. Thus the sub prime market was created. Add to that the teaser notes encouraged by Greenspan and Rubin and you have financial disaster. Now like the drunk who starts drinking vodka first thing in the morning to cure his hangover,the government has decided to go further in debt,which will prolong the pain and delay any recovery. why hasnt our government started prosecuting those in financial business who were doing the same thing Enron and World Com did? I dont get it. We must have perp walks and business fail to purge the system. Why isnt Franklin Raines in prison? Or Rubin? Or Sandy Weil? Why is there no outcry like there was after the dotcom and enron debacles? I dont get it. Let me get this straight,not only do I have to pay my neighbors mortage cause he bought way too much house,I have to buy his rubbers too? where does it end?
Condoms behind glass under lock and key? I am of the age to remember when that was the ONLY way you could buy a condom. You had to ask the pharmacist for a rubber, and then die of embarrassment. It was horrible. I am sure this antiquated practice gave birth to millions of "glass condom" babies. CVS should take their heads out of their asses and put it back into their hearts.

LIE$ which cost each of us (in every country) a fortune in totally wasted tax investments, plus millions of innocent lives globally. HIV has NEVER ever been isolated in any human ever! HIV can NOT possibly cause ANY disease, least of all, so-called AID$. HIV is most certainly NOT sexually transmitted, & if one was injected with blood from a so-called HIV+ (Pos) person, NOTHING would happen (unless of course, they had some real infectious disease/virus at the time). Don't trust any HIV+ test result & certainly NEVER take any medications for such a hoax! Robert Gallo, the 'inventor' of HIV = AID$, deliberately & criminally falsified the original laboratory test result documentation, & quickly patented HIV tests. Some time later there was an official investigation, when the truth & evidence of Gallo's fraudulent documentation surfaced, but it appears that he was never prosecuted ... instead, the lies & bogus HIV testing simply continue to escalate as is all too evident. There are no prizes for guessing precisely who would've covered this up and chosen to allow the genocidal lies to continue as they have done. All the irrefutable evidence is available in black & white to anyone, anytime. It's all of our responsibility to begin saving previous lives & at the same time, from having our hard-earned taxes being wasted on fraudulent claims.
