Kiara, you are one of the first trans-women I befriended, when I was really early in my transition. Walking with you, Tanya, & Ava down Madison Ave is a really fond memory. You took me in & showed me what community looked like when I was feeling a lot of isolation. You showed me what it meant to advocate, to care for people, & to ask for more. I miss you. Thank you for everything. I know you loved the lotus flower, I remember you said that they blossom beautifully despite their harsh environment
