Thanks for these reflections, Jirair. We all need a renewed dose of optimism with our anger right now! But speaking of the timeline of AIDS conferences, let me add Montreal 1989 to those amazing moments. Keith Haring wasn’t there - but his art was, thanks to the first “Art Against AIDS” event (thanks to Ken Morrison). We organized the first ever activist pre-conference. Act Up was everywhere. ICASO was born. It was in many ways the birth of the international community activist movement.
