My gay son went to True Colors camp 2 years from age 14-16. At 1st he loved it. It was good for him to connect with other gay kids but after the 2nd year he didn’t want to return. He said there were so many trans kids and that ideology along with levels of oppression were being pushed. He said he was asked many times by the adults and kids “are you sure you’re not trans?” The atmosphere was “it’s cool to be trans” and he no longer felt he belonged there.
