First off, we need to hold everybody accountable no matter who it is including ourselves. Second, this meeting was in Sanders camp to decide when and where. Unfortunately, they gave a three day notice that cost people much more money that they could have been spent elsewhere. Third, creating another panel to create a plan to end AIDS is redundant when there already is a blue print to end AIDS created by multiple organizations (60) in New York which can easily be formatted as a national plan.
Did Hillary meet with activists today? I am not a Bernie supporter, but I find it odd he didn't meet with activists. I don't think his goals in the breaking news part replaces actual meeting face to face. I won't be able to form an opinion on this until I find out if Hillary did in fact meet with AIDS activists and if Bernie does.
Politics and AIDS has almost always gone hand in hand. Still, not because it's nature but survivble. In reality, like many odd marriages, it's not the best way to live. In this case, politicians always get the upper hand. Even in this article, it pretended to be what it's not. If there's any gain for a politician there has to be a lost somewhere else. Let's hope that the best of nature will get the better hand this time. Until now the only winners have been the pharmaceutical industry.
We already know where Sanders stands on HIV/AIDS. We know we will have incredible access in his administration. We know that his platforms are an remarkable alignment with what the AIDS movement has wanted for decades. Far better than any major candidate since the start of the epidemic. Bernie is already with us and has always been with us. Free universal health care. An appropriate response to pharmaceutical company price gouging. An end to criminalization. The list goes on and on.
In all fairness, I think you should post the UPDATE to the article at the top. most people wont read the whole thing and won't see that Sanders is working on the issue, even if he cancelled a meeting..... If I hadn't read on, I might have considered switching my vote to my dog. I've already changed my party so I could vote in the primary for Bernie.
Are you kidding? The guy does 2 or 3 rallies a day,I don't know how the guy sleeps, I'm sure he isn't blowing you off with malicious or arrogant intent. He has been an advocate for Aids/HIV and I seriously think that putting the epidemic on his platform as one of his priorities sends the message that it's important to him. We don't know the whole story, we don't know if the day they gave him didn't work out and he wants a different one. Cut him a little break please, he's really busting his hump
I hope America feels the Bern. He has a valid and comprehensive plan about HIV that is laudable and achievable. frethinking 301 nailed it. I hope someone in the Sanders campaign answers to the meeting and dispels the unnecessary fears. He would be best for ALL Americans and he would answer to Wall street like no one else running. BERNIE 2016!

I think shaming Congressman Sanders in no way is helping the agencies or those they represent . As others have written the primary schedule ,particularly this bizarre , dangerous year of elections is grueling to say the least . As an HIV+ man for over 27 years I don't see it as an affront rather I trust that if he were to succeed me and others like me will not be forgotten . It's ridiculous having agency directors behaving like children pulling on Sanders coat tails . Trust Trump ????
